How Bugxy handles account information, browser context, recordings, and Google Drive access.

Last updated: [Month Day, Year]

01

Scope

This Privacy Policy explains how Bugxy collects, uses, stores, and shares information when you use the Bugxy website, Chrome extension, dashboard, recording tools, and sharing features.

02

Information we collect

  • Google account information such as your name, email address, profile image, and Google account identifier.
  • Recording metadata such as title, page URL, website, duration, status, tags, and capture time.
  • Technical context such as browser, operating system, viewport, screen size, console logs, network requests, navigation, interactions, and timing information captured according to your settings.
  • Google Drive connection information, including encrypted OAuth tokens and the Drive folder or file references needed to upload and display your recordings.
  • Notes, share links, settings, and support messages you choose to provide.
03

How we use information

We use information to authenticate you, record and organize bug reports, upload recordings to your connected Google Drive, provide playback and sharing, maintain security, troubleshoot failures, improve reliability, and communicate about the service.

04

Google Drive access

Bugxy uses the limited drive.file permission. Bugxy is designed to access the recording files it creates or uses for your reports and is not intended to browse unrelated files in your Drive. Google handles Google account and Drive data under its own policies and terms.

05

Where recordings are stored

Completed video recordings are intended to upload directly to your connected Google Drive. Bugxy stores report metadata and technical context needed for the dashboard and sharing features; Bugxy is not intended to operate as a permanent video storage library. Google Drive files remain subject to your Drive account, permissions, storage, and deletion choices.

06

Sharing and third parties

When you create a share link, Bugxy makes the selected report information available to people who can access that link. We may use service providers for hosting, authentication, storage of metadata, security, and support. We do not sell your personal information.

07

Retention and deletion

We retain account information, report metadata, and related records while needed to provide Bugxy, meet legal obligations, resolve disputes, prevent abuse, and enforce agreements. When you delete a recording in Bugxy, we request deletion of the linked video from Google Drive and remove its Bugxy metadata. If Google Drive deletion fails, Bugxy keeps the metadata and reports the error.

08

Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures to protect information, including encrypted storage for OAuth credentials. No online service can guarantee absolute security, so do not capture sensitive information unless you are authorized and accept the associated risk.

09

Your choices

  • Disconnect Google Drive through your Google account or Bugxy settings where available.
  • Delete Drive files directly from Google Drive.
  • Delete Bugxy recording metadata through the dashboard where available.
  • Contact us to ask questions about your account or information.
10

Children and international use

Bugxy is not directed to children who are not legally permitted to use the service. If you use Bugxy from outside [Country], you are responsible for complying with local requirements regarding recordings, personal information, and consent.

11

Changes and contact

We may update this Policy when our practices or legal obligations change. We will post the updated version and effective date.
